Michal's Window: Kindle Book of the Day 8/13

A great part of the appeal of historical fiction is how it takes an obscure person and breathes new life in to them. Michal's Window from author Rachelle Ayala does just that and more, making King David's first wife into someone you know and sympathize with. Whether or not you're familiar with this specific section of the Bible, the story paints a compelling portrait of the time period and the struggles that these people endured in the name of faith. Don't miss this one!

Name: Michal's Window
Rating: 4.1 stars over 42 reviews
Price: 2.99
Description: She lost it all in one agonizing moment...

Princess Michal is used to getting everything she wants, and she has her heart set on the young hero David. But their passionate love affair is destroyed by her father's murderous rage. Will David's departing promises be enough?

David the king is no longer the charming harpist she gave her heart to. The most powerful man in Israel, he falls into the arms of the beautiful Bathsheba.

Temptation comes in the form of a dashing Philistine warrior. Michal vows to be the only woman in David's heart, but does she know her own?

A novel of betrayal, forbidden love, and redemption, Michal's Window is an imaginative retelling of King David's story through the eyes of the woman who loved him first.

Reviews: "I gave Michal's Window five stars because I really like this author's style. Her prose is smooth, the pacing is fast when it needs to be and slow when appropriate. While the book has a few hitches - don't they all? - nothing severe enough to jolt me out of the story. Much of the story was unfamiliar to me. I'm not an avid reader of the Bible and had only vague memories of David's life. I enjoyed reading Michal's story, as I don't recall ever hearing about her before. Ayala does a good job with scenery and drawing well-rounded characters, also. I will definitely read more from this author!"
