New Accessories for the Kindle Fire!

As we predicted, the huge popularity of the Kindle Fire is driving more and more manufacturers into producing accessories for the device. In this post we'll be looking at a couple that are out and then one interesting one that is a few weeks away from release. I'll be very curious to know whether or not you think this will be a hit or a flop.

First, here are a few other neat toys that can help you expand your use of the Fire.

External Speakers for the Fire
Who says the Fire can't be the life of the party? If you've got a bunch of people over or you're just hoping to pump some tunes through your home, portable speakers could easily help you get the job done. There are a few different brands out there that work well with the Fire, but our favorites are the Altec Lansing iM227 Orbit MP3 Speaker (left), which has a great design and a nice 20% off the price, and the AYL (TM) Portable Mini Speaker System (right), which is small but packs a lot of punch! It's also temporarily on sale for a whopping 54% off! Both plug right into the 3.5mm headphone jack and have enormously favorable reviews.

Wireless Flash Drives
I also got a tip from a reader here who raved about his Maxell AirStash Wireless Flash Drive A02, which is a great way to add some storage space to the Fire and access additional music, movies, or files as an alternative to the Kingston Wi-Drive 32 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive. Some of the benefits include being able to stream to up to 3 devices, 7 hours of battery life, and does a great job working in place of an SD card, which the Fire lacks. It's a bit pricey, but if you go for it, definitely double your space and go for the 16GB model, which is just $15 more.

A Kindle Fire Docking Station
Now this is the one I was referring to in the beginning. A company called Readerdock is preparing to launch a specialized docking station for the Fire called the FireStation [Website Here]. Pre-orders begin at the end of the month, and then the item ships in mid-February. It has an adjustable arm, built-in speakers, and it recharges your device as well.

And there's also a snazzy video you can check out that shows off the FireStation.

What do you think? Is that something you're going to be interested in? Again, you can find the website for it HERE.

Stay tuned for more cheap and free apps later this afternoon!
